Worldwide D&D Game Day: DM's needed!

Well guys, WotC has finally sent me some preview information on Worldwide D&D game day and it looks like this year we're ramping things up a bit from 2007.

For starters, it looks like the sign up list supports 80 players, which means there should be plenty of prize support to go around for everyone who wants to play. Also, unlike last year, there's two events planned instead of one: a straight up module (4.0 rules!) and a really cool 'monster arena' combat scenario (your party vs. a White Dragon!).

Anyway, I'm going to need your help on this one if we're going to make sure this one goes as well as it did in 2007. Just like last year, I would like to ask for a few dedicated volunteers to run the module and the arena. I haven't figured out yet if I should have the same DM run the module and then the arena immediately thereafter or have separate DM's set up for each.

In any case, each session of the module supports 5 players at a time, so if we could set up maybe 4 or 5 4-hour sessions (last year we ended up running a total of 10 tables, if I remember correctly) it would be great.

If you're interested in helping out, please don't be shy and chime in - once I have the DM's in place with their set slot hours, I can start signing up players.

Any questions or suggestions are also welcome!

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Sincerely,

John,

Unfortunately, we scheduled my son's baptism for June 7th, long before this date was announced. :( So, I cannot help out. However, I'll be glad to run some games in the weeks after and introduce new players to 4E.

John, I'd like to assist as a DM at this event.

I heard earlier that it was any game other then just D&D. If so, I got a game I would like to DM.

Derek -- This game day is sponsored by Wizards of the Coast and will be the official launch of Dnd4E. So, I am sure that is what is going to be run. Still, you should check it out and run if you can. It will be good experience!

Sorry to confuse you Derek, but I think you're talking about Free RPG Day which is scheduled for June 21st (Saturday) - during that day any RPG is fair play, but Worldwide D&D Game Day is just for Dungeons & Dragon.

As matter of fact, since we already have an entire day dedicated to D&D in June, I would like to see different games being played.

Since I forgot to mention it in the post, I figured I'd take this occasion to let you guys know what we are going to reward DM's who run events for us on both days in the following way:

1) Worldwide D&D Game Day: each DM gets 20% off any D&D product on the day of the event (this is on top of our Bonus Points program and, yes, it is good for the new 4.0 books). If the support from WotC is the same as last year, then you should also look forward to going home with a copy of the adventure and every single monster miniature needed to run the module.

2) Free RPG Day: each DM gets to take home anything they want from the freebie pile, up to one of each while supplies last.

So hopefully this will help convince some of you who are sitting on the fence to lend a hand ;). Right now I have Michael Ma and it looks like Thomas Scott too - I may run myself if I can have the time to prep for the event: anyone else?

As far as everyone else who chimed in thank you and:

Doug: S'ok real life gets in the way sometime - want to run something for Free RPG day on the 21st?

Tom: Thanks! How do I get a hold of you? You can call the shop at (702) 307-6127 to discuss the details....

Thanks again!

John - I would be all over running some Serenity, but I am still in San Francisco for work on the 21st. Basically, I am on the road or on vacation the entire month of June. :(
